Mairim has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained in Venezuela, her country of origin. She has over 20 years of engineering experience in designing and executing complex projects in Venezuela and Canada, encompassing areas such as oil and gas, pipeline distribution, manufacturing, and more recently, hydrometallurgy. Not only has Mairim shared her passion for engineering through active participation in Mentoring Programs since 2015, but she has also volunteered for organizations like the United Way. Her pragmatism makes her an especially effective mentor, guiding engineers in balancing practical aspects of career moves and navigating language barriers, as she once did. Last year, Mairim launched the not-for-profit organization Mujeres Omega Inc., based in Orlando, Florida, USA, and in 2023, she expanded to launch the Mujeres Omega Foundation in Edmonton, Canada. The @mujeresomega community on Instagram profiles role models for Latina women and focuses on providing opportunities for personal growth, networking, and meaningful conversations.
